(Original Blog Post: http://www.jetmykles.com/2009/06/treva-harte-loose-id/)
This article is too cool not to share. The Washington Post interviewed Treva Harte, one of the owners of Loose Id.

Revelations has a cover

(Original Blog Post: http://www.jetmykles.com/2009/06/revelations-has-a-cover/)
Heaven Sent: Revelationsand isn't is lovely?

That's Gretchen on the left, you've met her before. Owen, her new personal assistant, is in the middle. Isn't he adorable? And that would be Archer on the right. He's just as dark and luscious as he looks :D

I'm still working on an excerpt, but I've got a draft of a blurb:

For years, Gretchen’s main objective has been taking care of the boys of Heaven Sent. When her boys decide to take a year-long hiatus, she decides to do the same.

Before she can begin her summer off, Gretchen has one last public commitment. There, she meets tall, mysterious, and wickedly handsome Archer Thanos. Archer’s company has a video game based on Heaven Sent and he’s has been trying to get in touch with her to discuss it. Their first meeting quickly turns into a discussion of another type … in a nearby hotel room, sending Gretchen headlong into a whirlwind summer affair she hadn’t anticipated.

Only, someone isn’t exactly thrilled about Gretchen and Archer’s romance.  Gretchen’s adorable new assistant, Owen, has been pining for his boss since he started working for her but he hasn’t had the courage to assert himself and tell her he wants her. The result, Gretchen is completely blind to his feelings for her. To make matters worse, after meeting Archer, Owen knows he has no chance against the handsome devil. His own attraction to the older man is instant and overwhelming, the bisexual urges he hasn’t divulged to Gretchen fully awakening.

Owen thinks he’s not enough for Gretchen. Gretchen thinks Owen is far too young for her. Archer thinks they’re both ridiculous. He knows the three of them are just right for each other, if they can survive the miscommunications and trials ahead.

Heaven Sent: Revelations is due out July 28th from Loose Id

Now own a Kindle

(Original Blog Post: http://www.jetmykles.com/2009/06/now-own-a-kindle/)
I drank the Kool-aid and bought a Kindle DX.

I had not intended to spend quite that much on a reader, but in the end that's what I did and so far I like it. All of my PDFs from past ebook purchases went onto it in a flash and read quite nicely, thank you very much. I do need to get a clip on light, though, since our house tends to be on the dark side.

I've had it all of two days but in those two days I've read 2 1/2 books, so that's got to be something, yeah? It also dawned on me that getting research books might be pretty cool on this thing. Got myself the collected works of Jules Verne so I can get a better handle on steampunk.

And, hey, it's a tax write off!

Two at once

(Original Blog Post: http://www.jetmykles.com/2009/06/two-at-once/)
No, I'm not talking about menage this time. I'm talking about writing. I've got two stories live in my head at the moment and it's kind of weird.

I just finished the rough draft of Dark Elves VI: Awakening as well as the first round of edits on Heaven Sent: Revelations, so, naturally, I'm ready to start the next project. I don't stop, you know. I may not be writing as fast sometimes or I may be stuck and not writing at all, but the stories never really halt in my head.

Well, I was all set to start this story that is so far "the boss" story because I don't have a title for it yet. I started working on this one over a year ago when the first scene jumped out at me and I had to write it. I managed to write 20,000 words on it before I fizzled out. I think it was Unicorn that needed to be written, so I put this boss story aside. But now it fits perfectly with a submission call that Loose Id sent out so I'm trying to get that one done and in by the deadline. It's the story I planned to do.

So, imagine my chagrin when another story up and accosts me. I'm going to say it isn't my fault. Look at this picture by Heise.

Is that not one of the most beautiful things you've ever seen? I'd seen it before because I purchased her artbook, but I was looking again the other day and a story for these guys just leaped out at me. I'd written close to 5K words before I'd really realized it.

So now I've got 2 stories going and I don't know who'll win out. Not sure I can get both of them done before I need to start working on the sequel to About Something, which I've agreed to do.

*sigh* so many stories!
